Program Overview:
In 2019, a new regulation was introduced under the Occupational Safety & Health Act, known as the Noise Exposure Regulations. This will supersede the noise regulations in Factory & Machinery Act. In this 1-day course, participants will learn how to prevent hearing loss and identify the appropriate control measures to minimize noise hazards.
Program Outcome:
• Understand the new requirements of noise risk assessment regulations.
• Learn how normal hearing begins, what can cause hearing loss & how to prevent it.
• Understand noise area monitoring at the workplace, identify the sources of noise and undertake control measures.
• Understand the principles of audiometric testing and the regulations involved.
• Learn the type, functions and usage & care of hearing protection devices.
